Think about! The Forgotten City Network
European cultural heritage is one of crucial factors in the process of the development of European democratic societies. Positive practice in central European countries, combined with unused possibilities in countries of Western Balkans, which are on their way toward EU, are the base for the promotion of the cultural diversity, strongly encouraged by European Union. So, the mayor task is to make public permanent values of the cultural heritage, which should promote cultural diversities in the region and its restoration, using the comparative study (architecture, urban planning. history, sociology, art history, protection of materials).
The Lower Town of Petrovaradin Fortress is a valuable baroque heritage on the shore of the Danube, its character as a fortification in the past, and above all as a core of a modern city, is an initial point to form, using multidisciplinary and multimedia approach, the network of similar valuable, somehow forgotten towns in the Western Balkan region, having in mind “a touch with modern times” as a incentive, not only a memory monument of the past.
